Terry Batt, skipper of Vicky Emma, comes from an old Bradwell based fishing family.

Terry's old Great Uncle, who was of Dutch extraction, had a fishing smack out of Bradwell way back in the 1940s.

His Grandfather Jack Hews owned a place in Althorne, Essex and bought Terry his first boat at the tender age of five years - a pram dingy called The Florence May (his Grandma’s name).

His Grandfather taught him all about the sand banks that one had to learn if you were to fish in these very prolific waters.
